Soulful Craft: The Local Project presents CANTARUTTI and the new partnership with ownworld

Partnering with Italian furniture manufacturer CANTARUTTI, ownworld continues to support the Australian design industry. Not only allowing local architects and designers access to high-quality furniture, the collaboration also celebrates the work of Adam Cornish and Adam Goodrum, Australian creatives who enhance the CANTARUTTI offering.

The Local Project was founded in 2016 by Aidan Anderson. At the time, Aidan was working as a furniture maker and observed first hand that, while there was a burgeoning interest in local design across the community, there were few channels connecting designers and makers directly with those interested in their work. The Local Project was born as an Instagram account dedicated to showcasing local design, leveraging the platform’s emphasis on strong visuals and design-focused audience. From there, The Local Project website was launched, publishing articles, interviews, profiles, and project, exhibition and event features.

Setting a high standard for environmental awareness, workplace ethics and product authenticity, CANTARUTTI is the latest brand to partner with ownworld. The Italian manufacturer produces expressive timber furniture that speaks to future living. Originally, the family business was situated in a local marketplace, creating wooden furniture for global export. Younger generations of leadership led the enterprise to a new, independent site where the family could commit their craft to a singular vision: CANTARUTTI, the brand.
